This project consisted of a logo and website design for a carpenter that creates beautiful buildings from specific Japanese timber.

The logo features a stylised representation of a section of Sugi timber, showcasing its distinct grain patterns and rich texture. The builder uses a prominent Japanese join which serves as a key element in the construction technique. The join is meticulously crafted and visually striking, symbolising the traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail associated with the Sugi timer.

Overall, the logo captures the essence of the Sugi timer and its construction process, representing the village of Kashimo’s dedication to preserving craftsmanship and sustainability. The red dot relates to the the rising sun on the Japanese flag.
